Our Carbide program:
Carbides
For the last 15 years Guhring has developed and produced its own carbide in two plants espacially for the precision tool industry but increasingly also for various applications not related to cutting operations, as for example in the mining and civil engineering industry, recycling industry, consumer industry etc. This enables us to adapt the tool materials for our own carbide tools to always optimally correspond to the newest requirements.
Today, with an annual production of 1,500 tons, Guhring is one of the largest carbide producers. The product range starts with a simple 1,2 mm diameter round bar extending up to isostatic pressed rolling rolls of 360 mm diameter
The quality of our products is our first and absolute priority. Every customer production order is automatically subjected to a metallurgical inspection prior to release. For example, samples are RFA analysed, ground sections of speciments are produced, physical data is gathered and documented. All the data is filed and can be accessed as and when required.
With carbide rod blanks a one hundred percent inspection for roundness, with IC a spiral angle inspection, are all part of our quality standard. In addition, we inspect the complete rod for possible error spots in the structure.
In the sector for costumer special carbide parts shrinkage inspections ensure that the final product satisfies the costumer's requirements.
Guhring now offers carbide grades with qualities that meet the highest expectations. In Berlin, we have a highly specialized facility for the production of carbide. We use the most modern equipment such as cold isostatic wetbag and drybag presses, or presses equipped with press controls in our production of carbide tooling blanks. We manufacture routinely complex forms and geometries to drawing. Almost unique in the production of various grades of carbide is the centralized programming of CNC machines which is particularly advantageous when forming parts to drawing. The sintering facility is exclusively equipped with sinter HIP furnaces computer-controlled by a central command station. The furnace processes guarantee the highest homogenity and strenght. Our laboratories are provided with the most advanced facilities, such as: The flexibility of our well-equipped tool-room enables us to satisfy the most exacting and unusual ccostumer requirements. Everywhere, where large quantities of raw materials and also finished goods flow at fast speeds along conveyor belts or through machines, there is an exposure to extreme wear on the running surfaces or in the guide rails. This even applies to relatively soft and light products such as food and consumer goods as well as plastic granules used for the production of cling film. Click here to request a catalogue. |
